Manege Banni’ Cultural
Variety for Women

The Sthree Shakthi Mahila Prathishtana of Mysore has planned a unique programme in the city – ‘Namma Manege Banni’. The members of the women’s organization will visit houses of women who extended an invitation and render a programme of recitation of poems associating the women residents of the area also. The ‘Come to Our House’ programme will be launched on October 18 at Gana Bharathi, Veene Seshanna Bhavana, by holding a State-level Dasara-Deepavali ‘Kavanothsava’, a festival of poems. The festival of poems
consists of two sessions, poets invited from Mysore and outside, participating
in the
programme. They will recite poems written by them. The
first session will be presided over by Mr. Banandur
Kempaiah. Those who will recite their poems in this
session will include Ms. B.T.Lalitha Naik, former
Karnataka Minister, Prof. C.P.Krishna Kumar, former
Kannada Professor of Mysore University, Dr. N.Giri
Gowda, President, Mysore District Kannada Sahitya
Parishat, Mr. H.B.Madana Gowda, President, Hassan
District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Dr. P.K.Rajashekar,
Dr. M.P.Manjappa Shetty, Mr. S.Ramaprasad, President, The second session
aims to provide opportunities to the members of the Sthree Shakthi
Prathishtana, drawn
from different district units of the State-level
women’s organization. Besides members from Mysore,
writers from Bangalore, Virajpet and Mandya will The programme will
be inaugurated Ms. B.T.Lalitha Naik, former Minister of Karnataka.
Mr. Banandur
Kempaiah, Deputy Director of Doordarshan, Bangalore
Station, will preside. The “Namma Manege Bani” programme
will be launched by Mr. A.Ramadas, MLA. Mrs. Mangala Sathyan, novelist
and President of Sthree
Shakthi Mahila Prathishtana, will address. |
