Kannada Rajyothsava and fifth anniversary celebrations of Sthree Shakthi Mahila Prasthishtana, a State-level organization of women, will be held on December 7, at Ganabharathi, Veene Seshanna Bhavan, Mysore.

Prof. N.Venkatachar (Prof. Bhashyam Swamy), the Chief Promoter of Sree Yoganarasimha Swamy Temple, Vijayanagar, and Mr. A.S.Chandra Mouli, Director-in-charge, Audience Research, Doordarshan Directorate, New Delhi, will inaugurate the anniversary and Rajyothsava celebrations, respectively. Dr. K.S.Narayanaswamy, Director, Seva Nursing Home, Mandya, will release “Indirayana”, a collection of short stories by Mrs. Indira Patil, and“ Naaga Sampige”, a collection of poems by Ms.
B.R.Nagarathna, who will also be felicitated on the occasion.

The Sthree Kala Shakthi awards will be presented to Mrs. Shantha Lakshminarayana and Ms. Lalitha Bai for their artistic excellence in the display of dolls and home garden during the last Dasara festivities in Mysore. Prizes for doll and garden show winners, as also to the winners of Kannada quiz and folk devotional song competitions, will also be given away. A Sthree Shakthi member will be selected by a lucky Sthree Shakthi draw prior to the commencement of the programme and she will be a‘homefront guest’ for the day’s celebrations. Mrs. S.Mangala Satyan, Prathisthana President, will preside over the entire day’s programmes. Cultural events by women and children will mark the end of the day’s programme.
