Special Programmes for Karthika & Dhanur Masa

The
Chandramouleswara Swamy Temple Charitable Trust has drawn up an elaborate
programme of special worship, music and cultural programmes for the months
of Karthika and Dhanur. The
celebrations, which began with the Kannada Rajyotsava on November 1, will
commence from November 5 and conclude on December 4 at the Temple in
Temple Road, Vani Vilasa Mohalla. The Dhanur Masa Pooja is arranged from
December 16 to January 14 between 5-30 and 7 a.m. Ashtavadhana Seva is
arranged during the month-long celebrations at 8-15 p.m. daily. As part of
the special worship, Karthika Masa Abhisheka, Dhanurmasa Abhisheka and
offering of Naivedya of Pongal are arranged on payment of a
fee. On
November 5, Bali Padyami is arranged as part of Deepavali celebrations.
Yekadhasha Rudrabhisheka and decoration of the idol with the leaves of
Bilva tree is arranged on November 11 from 7-30 a.m. which will be
followed by the singing of Shivananda Lahari by the members of Gayathri
Mahila Samaja of Vivekananda Nagar (Mysore) and veena recital by Ms.
Sahana from 5-30 p.m. Kanakadasa Jayanthi will be celebrated on November
18 with Rudrabhisheka, Shiva Sahasranama Archane and decoration of idol
with Thumbe tree leaves from 7-30 a.m. followed by vocal recital by Dr.
Manjula Sriram from 6 p.m. A
24-hour-long Akhanda Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana is arranged on November
19 from 6 a.m. On November 19, Sathyanarayana Pooja will be conducted at 6
p.m. and on November 20 Shiva-Vishnu Dheepothsava with special Abhisheka
and Vishnu Sahasranama Homa from 7-30 a.m. onwards. The idol will be taken
in procession through the main streets, concluding with special
Dheepothsava (illumination) on November 20. The third Monday (November 25)
will witness Mahanysa Poorvaka Yekadasha Vara, Rudrabhisheka, Shiva
Sahasranama Archane and Maha Magalarathi from 7-30 a.m. Vid. Chandan Kumar
will offer flute recital at 6-15 p.m. The fourth Monday (December 2)
will mark Shatha Rudrabhisheka, Sahahsra Nama Archane and Maha
Mangalarathi from 7-30 a.m. onwards followed by a vocal recital by Mr.
Manmohan at 6-30 p.m. On
December 4 Amavasya, there will special Abhisheka, Alankara, Archane in
the day and Deeparadhane, Ashtavadhana and Maha Mangalarathi in the
evening. |
