Sabha Builds Community Hall

The Mysore Mulakanadu Sabha has constructed a community hall at a cost of about Rs. 24 lakhs. The newly built "Mulakanadu Bhavana" is located on the inter-State highway, Mysore-Hunsur Road, which leads to Madikeri and Mangalore. Located near the Premier Studios in the new extension of Vijayanagar 3rd Stage, the community hall will serve as a nucleus for the activities of the Telugu-speaking Brahmins of Mysore, apart from the general public. The two-floor building will be declared open by Union Urban Development Minister Mr. Anantha Kumar on December 6 at 10 a.m. Mysore Krishnaraja Constituency MLA Mr. A. Ramadas, former Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Dr. K.R.S.Murthy, Educationist Prof. B.S.Pandit and Journalist S.R.Ramaswamy will be the chief guests. Mulakanadu Sabha President Prof. T.V.Venkatachala Sastry, who has been the main spirit behind the project taking a shape, will preside over the function. A souvenir highlighting the activities and achievements of the Sabha will be released on the occasion. In the evening, cultural programme and a visual exhibition on the community has been arranged at the new building. The Sabha has a membership of over 400, many of them leading personalities of Mysore. They have generously donated for the construction of the building. They are being honoured on the occasion. |
