1.26 billion silver jubilee bonanza for Infosys staff |
| Infosys Chief Mentor N.R.Narayana Murthy has announced a silver jubilee gift of Rs. 126 crore to the 56,000 employees if India’s IT giant. “This
gift will come from the corpus of the employees’ welfare fund. All
the Infosians will be the beneficiaries. Each employee will get the amount
on the tenure he has served the company, according to the trust decision,”
the chief mentor announced to a cheering assembly of young Infosians at
the launch of the ‘Infosys-25 years’ at its most modern IT
training complex in Mysore. “Let the critics of Indian reforms realize that there is no alternative to creation of jobs and eradication of poverty. Here today, we are celebrating that success of economic reforms of India,” he said. He cited the challenges he faced in the initial stages of the company’s founding and said that did not deter him as he had set a goal and was aware that there were bigger challenges and rewards ahead. “We have to remember the aspirations, courage, principles of innovation which will carry us to that success to which you want to carry,” Narayana Murthy told the young professionals. |
